Leigh Jackson Ltd has been in existence for over 60 years and was formed by Leigh Jackson (right) and Lorraine Anderson. After Leigh’s death in 1966, her shareholding was purchased from Leigh’s family by Lorraine and Russell Anderson. The company remains a privately owned limited liability company.

Leigh Jackson was the first professional custom made drapery manufacturing business in New Zealand which operated strictly at the wholesale level. It lifted the industry from the “outworker at home” situation to a true factory and production line serving retail stores and commercial sectors exclusively.

In 1970 the company imported the first automatic production equipment for custom made draperies into New Zealand. Since then, updating equipment specifically designed for the drapery industry has been an ongoing priority. Upgrading of premises now places the company in 2350 square metres of manufacturing facility, utilising some of the most modern technology and computerised systems for drapery manufacture in the world.

Today the company can boast a proud history of service to the retail and commercial sectors in New Zealand and the South Pacific. Retail clients and interior designers are provided with a wholesale manufacturing (make-only) service. In the commercial , hospitality and design sectors this may also include a full measure and installation service.
